One core scientific foundation stands close to the heart of each product and is responsible for concept, model, and different aspects of physical and software implementation. This is known as ABORINT™ and it derives from extensive research in nonlinear and inverse methods, originally derived for applications such as imaging and pattern recognition, and now applied in the hands of our scientists and engineers for use in process control, optimization, performance, and regulation.

ABORINT™ begins with mathematics and physics, including foundational and well-accepted work in quantum and statistical physics, thermodynamics, complexity theory, topology, and nonlinear dynamics. Our work has built upon the foundations of sonar and radio telescopy arrays, ultrasound and submicron imaging. The mathematical core has directly influenced our work and innovations in sensor and actuator electrochemistry and in the algorithms for control and interpretation of large amounts of seemingly unrelated and stochastically distributed data. Equally influential have been very well-established models and methods in computer science, analytical spectroscopy and in the human-centered domain of system integration and human-machine interfaces.
